Reporting by Zahra Ayaz

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted a total of 1,069 investigation and inspection visits and arrested 100 workers found to be in violation of Bahrain’s labour laws.

In addition, 145 people were deported from the Kingdom for their involvement in illegal employment. The LMRA made significant progress in maintaining and enforcing labor regulations during the week of December 10-16.

LMRA’s comprehensive approach included 1,055 visits to commercial establishments across the province, as well as 14 joint inspection campaigns. LMRA works closely with the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Labor, and other government agencies to foster a compliant and safe labor market.

The LMRA aims to intensify its inspection campaigns across Bahrain and stressed the importance of continued collaboration with government authorities. To further strengthen its efforts, the LMRA called for the support of the whole society in fighting illegal activities and informal employment.

Individuals are invited to report complaints regarding labour market violations and illegal employment using a dedicated electronic reporting form on the LMRA’s official website or by contacting the agency’s call centre on 17506055. The National Suggestion and Complaint System (Tawasul) also provides a means to report such cases.
