The Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted 1,523 inspection visits and campaigns last week from 12 to 18 May 2024. As a result of these inspections, 30 violators were arrested and 175 were deported.
These thorough inspections were conducted at various commercial establishments across all states and revealed violations of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Act and Bahrain’s residency laws and regulations. LMRA has taken necessary legal action against the violations found.
In addition to the inspections, the LMRA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, participated in 11 campaigns across the capital, Muharraq, southern and northern provinces, which were organized with the aim of eradicating illegal activities and enhancing the stability and competitiveness of the labor market.
Vigilance collaboration
LMRA continues to work closely with government agencies to intensify inspection activities and combat violations that have a detrimental effect on the labour market, economy and social security. The authority calls on the public to support the authority’s efforts by reporting complaints about labour market violations and irregular employment through the LMRA website (www.lmra.gov.bh), telephone helpline (1750 6055) or through the National Suggestion and Complaint System known as Tawasul.
