Snow Peak Long Beach Campfield opened this summer and is already receiving rave reviews.
LONG BEACH, Wash. — Despite only recently opening, Snow Peak Long Beach Campfield on Washington state’s coast has been named to Time magazine’s 2024 list of “Top 100 Places in the World.”
Snow Peak is a 25-acre “luxury” campground located near Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula. A news release announcing its opening earlier this month said the site “offers an elevated environment where guests can escape from their everyday lives and immerse themselves in the outdoors.”
The campground is a subsidiary of the Japanese camping company Snow Peak, and the Long Beach campground is the first Snow Peak campground in the United States.
“Our Long Beach Campfield is more than a destination; it’s a sanctuary where friends, families and solo campers can immerse themselves in a refined camping experience surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest coast,” said Noah Reis, chief operating officer and vice president, Snow Peak USA.
As the campsite is run by a Japanese company, it is fully equipped with Japanese-style baths and Japanese-made equipment. There are also plenty of activities available, such as mushroom hunting, clam digging, and bicycle tours.
Time’s list of “The World’s Greatest Places” has grown from 50 last year to 100 this year, and includes hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums and parks. According to Time, the list was compiled “through our international network of correspondents and contributors, and through an application process, highlighting places that offer new and exciting experiences.”
This isn’t the first time a Pacific Northwest city or place has been named one of Time magazine’s “World’s Greatest Places” — Portland made the list in 2022.
Campgrounds were fully booked all summer and had to be booked months in advance.
