IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl has expanded its partnership with Germany’s Vodafone Business, enabling the telecommunications company to enhance its services to the country’s financial industry.
In a statement released yesterday (July 29), Kindrill explained that the two companies have been continuously improving their partnership, which was established in 2018, to meet the needs of various industries, with a focus on infrastructure, cloud and security services.
Kindrill described the renewal as a “significant milestone” in its business relationship with Vodafone Business.
The latest agreement sees Kyndryl providing Vodafone’s financial sector customers with the latest security features that they can use to meet their compliance requirements.
Relevant measures include endpoint protection for servers and workstations, virtual desktop infrastructure, proxy management, and web security.
Kindrill explains that the company will “scan and identify vulnerabilities on end-user servers, virtual machines, network devices, firewalls and endpoint devices”, which will “harden” the digital infrastructure of Vodafone customers.
Alexander Steineck, vice president of industrial and consumer at Kindrill Germany, said the two companies are committed to providing “advanced security and resilience services that address the evolving threat landscape.”
Threat Level
German digital association Bitcom said in May that cyberattacks were the main driver of digital and analog espionage losses to the German economy of 206 billion euros each year, accounting for 148 billion euros of the total.
The report said 48% of businesses feared they could be devastated by a successful cyber attack, and argued that countering the threat required “close cooperation” with local police, intelligence services and even the “German military”.
