1. Appgate releases new version of its ZTNA solution: Secure access specialist Appgate has released the latest version of its universal Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution, Appgate SDP 6.3. The new version helps build a more agile, efficient and secure network, improving business continuity, security and performance. The company says the new features maximize resiliency, speed and performance, and also include an AI-based risk engine.
2. Blumira and Trava Team Up on Security for SMBs: Security and operations platform provider Blumira and compliance and cybersecurity advisory services specialist Trava Security announced a strategic alliance to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) proactively manage cyber risks and protect against the negative impacts of cyber incidents. The alliance leverages Blumira’s automated threat detection and response capabilities to provide more accessible cybersecurity options for SMBs. These services, combined with Trava Security’s vCISO and compliance services, will help organizations achieve a security posture that protects against cyber attacks, the companies said.
3. CrowdStrike Shares Take a Hit: CrowdStrike shares fell more than 8% on Tuesday after reports that Delta Airlines will seek compensation from cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike for the recent global IT outage that hit airlines and other industries. The cyber outage caused more than 2,200 flights to be canceled on July 19, and Delta has canceled more than 6,000 flights since then. 4. Darktrace Launches New Partner Program: Cybersecurity AI specialist Darktrace has launched a new global partner program. The Darktrace Defenders Partner Program fosters closer collaboration and empowers partners to help organizations improve cyber resilience using the Darktrace ActiveAI security platform and products. Darktrace’s global partner organization has worked with thousands of partners around the world, including value-added resellers (VARs), global system integrators, MSSPs, distributors and consulting organizations, the company said.
5. Veracode Launches Partner Program: Application risk management specialist Veracode has launched an enhanced Veracode Velocity Partner Program. The company says the expanded program introduces a simplified approach to working with resellers and value-added distributors. Benefits include early access to Veracode products, invitations to Veracode Technical Summits, Partner Technical Advisory Council membership, participation in thought leadership programs, revenue acceleration programs and marketing investments.
6. Accenture and SandboxAQ Expand Partnership: Accenture and SandboxAQ are expanding their partnership to address the critical need for enterprise data encryption that can defend against not only current data breaches but also future AI and quantum threats. Accenture and SandboxAQ are helping organizations protect sensitive data and enforce encryption across their technology portfolios. According to Accenture, the joint offering also provides observability across environments to help enterprises increase resiliency and reduce the impact of third-party risks.
7. Proficio Rolls Out Breach and Attack Simulation Services: Managed detection and response (MDR) provider Proficio has rolled out its ProBAS Breach and Attack Simulation Services. ProBAS helps organizations’ security defenses prevent breach events and detect attacks throughout the threat detection and response process. The company says that from device alert logs to SIEM and SOC detection and containment response actions, ProBAS covers all aspects.
8. Securonix Hires New CEO: Security information and event management (SIEM) provider Securonix has appointed Kash Shaikh as president and CEO and a member of its board of directors. Kash most recently served as president and CEO of Virtana, a provider of observability solutions for hybrid cloud infrastructure. Prior to Virtana, Kash was global vice president and general manager of Dell’s enterprise solutions unit. He has also held leadership and executive roles at Ruckus Wireless, Hewlett Packard, Cisco and Nortel Networks.
9. Nuspire Reports Exploit Surge: MSSP Nuspire released its Q2 2024 cyber threat report. The Q2 2024 report showed a 21.07% increase in exploit activity compared to Q1, highlighting the persistent and growing threat of vulnerability exploitation. Conversely, ransomware publications decreased by 10.43%, primarily due to law enforcement actions against major ransomware groups. Dark web marketplace listings also saw a 12.93% decrease in overall activity, suggesting a potential shift in cybercriminal tactics, Nuspire reported.
10. Axiad Raises Growth Funding: Identity security provider Axiad has raised $25 million in funding from Invictus Growth Partners. The company said the investment funds will be primarily used to accelerate product development innovation, hire additional top talent, ramp up sales and marketing efforts, and support efforts toward obtaining Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Authority to Operate.
