The Embassy of India in Bahrain invites applications for the ‘Annapurna Certificate’, launched by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), which recognises restaurants that are significantly promoting authentic Indian cuisine and culinary traditions abroad. Indian restaurants abroad play a vital role in showcasing Indian cuisine to local communities and strengthening cultural ties. The ‘Annapurna Certificate’ initiative by ICCR aims to promote cultural exchange through food and recognise global ambassadors of authentic Indian cuisine.
Restaurants that have been in business for more than five years and serve quality food in a clean and hygienic environment can apply for this certificate. After a detailed examination of the application, the certificate will be awarded at an event organised by the Indian Embassy in the respective country. This recognition provides a significant boost to the status of restaurant owners and chefs.
