Daily Tribune – www.newsofbahrain.com

Bahrain’s Foreign Minister HE Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani reiterated his country’s call for an immediate end to the fighting in the Gaza Strip, speaking at the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Kampala, Uganda.

Dr Al Zayani stressed Bahrain’s strong opposition to the forced expulsion of Palestinians from their land and underlined the Kingdom’s commitment to a diplomatic approach.

The Minister stressed the need to protect civilians, release hostages and detainees, provide humanitarian assistance and alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s civilians, and called for a peaceful resolution to be prioritized.

He said Bahrain rejects forced relocations and supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.

Dr Al Zayani also urged concerted global efforts to ensure free and safe maritime navigation in the Red Sea, stressing its importance for global security and peace.
