Moscow, July 26 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain won first place at the BRICS Holy Quran Awards, held in Kazan, Russia from July 24 to 26, 2024. The announcement was made at the closing ceremony on Friday evening, which was attended by Dr. Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajeri, Chairman of the Council of Sunni Foundations.
Mohammed Samir Mujahid, representing Bahrain, won the recitation category at the contest which attracted participants from 20 countries around the world.
On the occasion, His Highness Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Mawdah, Minister of Law, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, expressed Bahrain’s pride at this brilliant achievement at a major international competition. He stressed that this success reflects the passion of Bahraini youth to memorize, recite and learn the Holy Quran, backed by the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous support of His Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in promoting Quranic memorization and education.
The Ministry of Law, Islamic Religion and Endowments, through the efforts of the Holy Quran Secretariat and various Holy Quran Memorization Centres, is committed to implementing plans to train and prepare competitors at the international level and to participate in international Holy Quran competitions throughout the year.
