Bahraini companies sign 20 agreements with global and regional partners at GITEX 2023 Created: 08:22 PM Last Updated: 08:22 PM Views: 222 Manama, Nov 2 (BNA): Bahraini companies at the Kingdom of Bahrain Pavilion at GITEX 2023 concluded their successful participation after receiving a fantastic welcome and participation during the event, which led to the signing of 20 partnership agreements and memorandums of understanding between Bahraini companies and various regional and international organisations.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion, sponsored by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) in collaboration with the Economic Development Board (EDB), Bahrain Export Board and ila Bank, recorded unprecedented visitor numbers at the world expo. Held annually in Dubai, GITEX brings together cutting-edge technology companies, experts and decision-makers, as well as technology enthusiasts from around the world.
Tamkeen’s chief growth officer, Khalid Albayat, praised the quality of Bahraini companies and highlighted the country’s regional leading position in information and communications technology (ICT) and the digital economy.
He said: “Tamkeen’s consistent sponsorship of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pavilion, now in its ninth year, remains a top priority. We aim to promote the growth of Bahrain’s entrepreneurship and innovation system and boost key economic sectors, including ICT. Our focus is to develop national capacities and equip Bahrainis with specialized technical skills in various pioneering digital fields. This will further create quality employment opportunities, foster career development, promote entrepreneurship and encourage the launch and expansion of pioneering technology projects both locally and internationally, thus strengthening our contribution to the country’s economic landscape.”

The GITEX Global Exhibition pavilion featured 12 Bahraini SMEs as well as 20 start-ups that took part in the Expand North Star Exhibition, an integral part of the GITEX Global Week activities. Notably, the Expand North Star Exhibition, which was held separately from GITEX for the first time, attracted over 800 companies from over 100 countries around the world.
Three Bahraini startups advanced to the semi-finals of the Supernova Challenge, with the emerging Bahraini application “Unipal” winning second place. Unipal founder Ali Al-Alawi said he was proud to represent Bahrain at this global competition, emphasizing that it provided him with valuable experience and networking opportunities with experienced professionals in the technology field. These opportunities will improve user experience and push the application to new heights.
The exhibition featured numerous discussion sessions and presentations by representatives of the Bahrain Pavilion, including partners and participants, covering highly interesting topics such as artificial intelligence and latest technologies, together with a large number of international industry experts and specialists.
Bahraini companies have made great strides in establishing partnerships and agreements with various regional and international organizations. In particular, the following collaborations have been identified:
ADRI signed a partnership agreement with China Mobile to promote 5G technology, data centers, and IoT applications in the Gulf region. The MoU focuses on fostering cooperation in developing Arabic-based artificial intelligence infrastructure in the region.
· NGN International has signed partnership agreements with four prominent companies:
1. Emirates Alliance for Technical Solutions, Abu Dhabi’s leading cybersecurity and information technology company.
2. Positive Technologies is a global company specializing in providing organizations with security solutions to manage security vulnerabilities, analyze risks, and protect applications.
3. Dynatrace is a leading global company listed on the New York Stock Exchange that provides an advanced monitoring platform based on artificial intelligence and automation.
4. Axidian, a global information security provider offering specialized solutions including system access management and identity verification.
· FACEKI has signed five agreements in collaboration with Bahrain Exports with the aim of leveraging its export solutions to expand into different countries. These agreements include partnering with the following:
1. Explorer Bees is a leading Pakistan-based Artificial Intelligence based social platform focused on the hospitality and tourism services sector across the globe.
2. Trade Dog is an Indian company that specializes in providing cryptocurrency financial services to help manage portfolios and investments.
These two agreements aim to enable facial recognition capabilities to enhance information security and data protection, and improve user experience.
3. Redleaf Technologies is a startup focused on providing green enterprise solutions aimed at reducing carbon usage and mitigating environmental impact. In partnership with Faceki, the company aims to power its artificial intelligence-based video identification services.
4. SANATECH Global Solutions, a US company that specializes in providing various solutions for programming applications. This contract will see the use of advanced solutions that utilize artificial intelligence for eKYC, KYB, and AML/PEP verification.
5. Lithuania’s SDK Finance is a platform specializing in the development of financial technologies. The agreement with the platform aims to reduce fraud and provide a more comprehensive verification solution.
· Think Smart has signed the following:
1. Strategic partnership agreement with EON Reality, a global leader in augmented reality and virtual reality educational solutions.
2. Memorandum of Understanding with Excellence Delivered (ExD), a leading vendor-agnostic systems integration company in the Gulf region.
Arab Financial Services (afs) signed seven memorandums of understanding with various Bahraini and international institutions, including Unipal, Softech Systems, Equity Bank, Supersonic USA, Fortis, Peach Payments and Dynamic Business Solutions, with a view to providing comprehensive digital payment services.
· Silah Gulf has strengthened its strategic partnership with Genesys, a leading provider of cloud solutions for customer contact centers, intensifying its efforts to enhance customer service solutions.
These collaborations and discussions at the exhibition highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to fostering innovation and growth in the digital and technology sectors.
