Batelco, part of the Beyon Group, unveiled its new digital assistant, Basma, at a launch event, powered by advanced generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Basma is designed to improve customer experience and provide digital assistance on Batelco’s apps and websites. Basma is available anytime, anywhere, ensuring customers have 24/7 support.
Users can now interact with Basma in English and Arabic through seamless voice and chat conversations directly within Batelco’s mobile app and website. Basma can understand users’ needs and provide efficient solutions in real-time. Its capabilities include responding to FAQs, billing inquiries, usage inquiries, package and device installments, tracking fiber orders, reconnecting lines, activating add-ons, and more. Basma’s AI-powered system is designed to continuously learn and improve its capabilities, providing more accurate and relevant support over time.
On Thursday 25 July 2024, Batelco General Manager Consumer, Aseel Matar, alongside Batelco CEO Maisam Abdullah, introduced Basma at a press conference held at Beyon headquarters. The event was well attended by members of the media eager to learn more about this latest innovation. During the press conference, Batelco’s Head of Digital Channels, Khaled Alayobi, showcased Basma’s capabilities through a live demonstration.
Customers can update their Batelco app to start chatting with Basma.
