Manama, July 28 (BNA): The Bahrain Centre for Strategic and International Energy Studies (Derasat) has released a report titled, “Industry-Academia Partnership: Towards Advancing Energy Transition.”
The report, which examines the role of industry-academia collaboration in advancing Bahrain’s energy transition, was prepared by Dr. Abdullah Isa Al Abbasi, Director of the Energy and Environment Programme at DeraSat’s Research and Studies Department, and Sabeka Khalid Mohammed Ismail, Analyst at the same department.
The report is the result of a series of roundtables organised by DeraSat involving various stakeholders, energy sector experts, academics and researchers, with the aim to study the challenges and opportunities in this crucial sector in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and find economic solutions that support the transition and adoption of clean technologies.
Additionally, the report highlights the importance of non-conventional energy sources in meeting growing energy demand, suggests innovative solutions for water management, calls for greater collaboration among relevant sectors, and stresses the importance of collaboration between academia and industry to drive innovation and progress.
Derasat aims to contribute to strengthening stakeholder support and dialogue to address challenges of national importance. The report puts forward a number of recommendations to support efforts in the field of energy transition.
