Bahrain Labour Fund Tamkeen has announced a new programme to help Bahraini businesses expand their franchise operations globally.
The announcement was made at a recent event attended by key business stakeholders, which featured a panel discussion highlighting the importance of franchising to Bahraini businesses. The new business franchise program is a joint effort between Tamkeen, Export Bahrain and iFranchise Facilities Services LLC, a consultancy firm specializing in franchising.
The initiative will provide comprehensive support to Bahraini businesses to expand into new markets, increase their international competitiveness and boost local exports.
Tamkeen chief executive officer His Excellency Maha Abdulhameed Mofees said the programme will provide customised support through two channels: for new franchisors and for existing chains looking to expand internationally.
The scope of the programme will include readiness assessment, market assessment, strategic partnership with Export Bahrain, business development support, guidance in starting a franchise business and building partnerships.
“Franchising provides an ideal pathway for Bahraini products to reach global markets,” said Safaa Sharif A. Khaliq, CEO of Export Bahrain. Mark Seibert, CEO of iFranchise Facilities Services, praised Bahrain’s robust business environment and the role of Tamkeen and Export Bahrain in facilitating the global expansion of Bahraini companies.
The collaboration is in line with Tamkeen’s 2024 strategic priorities, which focus on economic impact and private sector development.
