The U.S. House of Representatives Abraham Accords Caucus held the second meeting of its Gaza Working Group on July 26.
Reps. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.), Ann Wagner (R-Missouri), David Trone (D-Md.) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) met with diplomats from the three countries that signed the 2020 Abraham Accords to discuss plans for rebuilding the area once the war ends.
The event was attended by UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba and Moroccan Ambassador Yousef Amrani, while Bahrain’s Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa participated online.
“It is essential that we continue to foster dialogue with world leaders to ensure that the people of Gaza can have confidence in a free and fair democracy in the future,” Tron said.
“The Abraham Accords Caucus is committed to promoting peace in the region and committed to advancing security and reconstruction in Gaza. Our ongoing dialogue with regional leaders and experts is critical to developing an effective strategy to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future for Gaza, and the entire Middle East,” Schneider said.
Wagner thanked the group for the meeting and praised “the role our important partners can play in stabilizing Gaza and preventing radicalization. Ten months after Hamas’ devastating attacks on Israel, I am very pleased to see that the Abraham Accords remain strong.”
