Officials from the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) extensively discussed Bahrain’s laudable efforts to implement modernized procedures and mechanisms to strengthen the labor market and ensure maximum fairness and stability in the working environment.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia’s efforts to combat human trafficking were reviewed in depth when LMRA officials hosted a delegation of U.S. Congressional officials.
The delegation, together with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with several officials from the LMRA. They received a comprehensive briefing on the functions and responsibilities of the Center, the first specialized institution in the Middle East to provide a wide range of services, including prevention, counselling, legal services and shelter to victims and potential victims of trafficking in persons.
Stakeholders further highlighted the vital role played by the Regional Training and Capacity Building Center for Anti-Trafficking, which serves as a key platform for certifying trainers to equip frontline practitioners and officials from various organizations with the skills required to effectively identify and respond to victims and potential victims of trafficking.
