Baku, Nov. 22 (BNA): Minister of Labor Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan attended the general meeting of the OIC Labor Center on the sidelines of the fifth conference of labor ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, held from Nov. 21-23.
The minister hailed the opening of the OIC Labour Centre, which will promote member states’ efforts towards sustainable economic growth and human development, including fostering cooperation among labour markets in Islamic countries.
The Centre is responsible for developing national research and regional programmes, taking into account each country’s labour market conditions, revitalising its economy and promoting sustainable development.
Bahrain is also one of the Islamic countries that have ratified the OIC Labour Centre Statute.
The Centre focuses on addressing labour issues, exchanging expertise, improving working conditions, strengthening social partnership, promoting decent employment conditions, creating employment opportunities and developing social security systems.
