Dubai: If you work in the UAE, you may need to provide your work card number to receive certain services, such as when filing a salary complaint or applying for a golden visa.
The digital version of the card can be easily accessed through the UAE Pass application, the national digital identity for citizens and residents.
The process only takes a few minutes and the service is free.
A work card or work permit is issued to all employees in the UAE by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) or the free zone where they may be working.

How to create a UAE Pass account
Before you can access your labour card number, you will first need to download the UAE Pass app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store and create an account. Here are the steps:
1. Once you have downloaded the app, open it and tap on the “Create Account” option to register as a new user.
2. Agree to the Terms of Use and tap the Continue button.
3. If you have an Emirates ID card, select the “Yes, scan now” option.
4. Verify your personal details captured from the scanned Emirates ID card.
5. Verify your mobile number and email address.
6. Enter the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your mobile number.
7. Now enter the OTP sent to your email address.
8. Set up your UAE Pass app PIN.
9. Once you have set your PIN, you will also be given the option to upgrade your UAE Pass account by scanning your face. 10. The UAE Pass app will enrol you using biometric facial recognition (Face ID).
11. You can choose “Start Face Recognition” or “Later”. If you select the Face Recognition option, you will need to allow the app to access your camera.
12. The app will begin the face recognition process and will send you a pop-up notification once complete.
You have now registered for your UAE Pass account, which you can use to log in to over 1,000 UAE government websites and access digital versions of important documents such as your Emirates ID, driving license and residence permit.
How to find your work card in the UAE Pass app.
Once you have created your account, you will be able to access your labour card in the UAE Pass app. Here are the steps:
1. Open the app and tap the “Add Document” category.
2. Next, scroll down until you see the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization and tap on “Labour Card”.
3. UAE Pass will then automatically populate your Emirates ID number. You will need your Emirates ID number to access your work card.
4. Then slide the button to agree to the document access request.
5. Tap the “Confirm” button. You will see the following message: “Your document request was successful. You will be notified when your documents are available.”
6. Once your documents have been uploaded, you will receive a notification from UAE Pass.
7. Next, go to the “Documents” section in the menu tabs at the bottom of the screen.
8. Tap on “Labour Card” to view your Labour Card number and employment details.
9. Tap “View Document” to access your digital labor card.

If you need to share your labour card details with any government agency, you can present your UAE Pass digital labour card.
To do this, open the document and tap on the “QR Verification” button present underneath. The government official or employee can then scan the Quick Response (QR) code to verify the authenticity and validity of the document.
Documents stored in the app are secured by blockchain technology, ensuring that digital documents cannot be tampered with and allowing applicants to submit digitally.
